Brandi and her daughters are safe
Brandi has two of the cutest little girls you will ever meet: three-year-old Danielle and two-year-old Sarah. Last year, Brandi and the girls were living in an apartment that became infested with rats and mice, and the landlord stopped paying for the utilities. “I had to protect my children,” Brandi remembers. “We had to get out of there.”
She found an apartment in South St. Louis but when she went to get her furniture out of storage, some of it had been infested with bugs. She and her daughters were in a safer place and the house was immaculate, but the girls were sleeping on a loveseat and Brandi was sleeping on the floor.
Brandi and her daughters now have beds, a kitchen table and chairs and Brandi is caught up on rent and utility payments – all thanks to you.
But Brandi is most grateful for the relationship that she has with the SVdP volunteers. “I don’t know how others will react or handle Danielle, who was diagnosed with autism, and my instinct is to be protective,” says Brandi. “So, I was so grateful that the SVdP volunteers came to my home, talked with me and prayed with me.”
During the prayer, the little girls suddenly became focused and just looked up at the Vincentians with such peace. It’s a peace that came, in part, because of you. Confirms Brandi: “I’m a big believer that God puts people in our path for a reason, and I am so grateful He put you in my path.”
