A Good Start
When Virginia reached out to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the electricity had been turned off in her home. She was starting a new job the next week and the young mother said she needed a little help to get over the hump.
But when our Vincentian visited Virginia, the volunteer noticed Virginia had no furniture in her home, even though she’d lived there for three months. The children were sleeping on pallets and their clothes were in garbage bags.
Because of your commitment to help our neighbors in need, you provided Virginia the ability to pay off her electric bill, buy mattresses for her three children and some dressers and furniture for their apartment. More importantly, you gave Virginia confidence and peace as she began her new job that will help provide for her children. Your generosity inspires us as we seek and serve those in need.
