At the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in St. Louis, we believe that helping neighbors starts at home. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul's volunteers, known as Vincentians, are men and women, young and old, in every shade of skin color. Some are wealthy, while others financially modest, but all Vincentians possess an awareness that our blessings (time, talent, or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need. We welcome all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving their neighbor. In coming closer to those in need, you are coming closer to God.
Our volunteer program offers a wide variety of rewarding opportunities. You may serve individually or organize a club, co-workers, or other group. Our neighborhood-based chapters are always in need of new faces, fresh perspectives, new hands, and new hearts to respond to our friends and neighbors who need help. Use your hard-won experience to help others, and along the way, you might learn some new skills too. Read about our volunteer opportunities.

Yours must be a work of love, of kindness. You must give your time, your talents, yourselves. The poor person is a unique person of God’s fashioning with an inalienable right to respect.
