Ways to help
All of us have something to give
Help by giving
There are so many ways to give. You can:
And remember, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Louis is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. By helping others, we often help ourselves. You will be amazed at the transformation!
Help by Volunteering
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul's volunteers, known as Vincentians, are men and women, young and old. Some are wealthy, while others are financially modest, but all Vincentians possess an awareness that our blessings (time, talent, or treasure) are to be shared with our neighbors in need. We welcome all who wish to live their faith by loving and serving their neighbor. In coming closer to those in need, you are coming closer to God.
Get involved through your local parish conference. You can find the nearest conference here.
Help by Shopping
Shoppers and volunteers in our stores help us generate revenue to fund our programs year-round. Your purchase helps us provide low-cost and no-cost goods directly to those in need. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides furniture, clothing, and other household items to low-income families who simply cannot afford them. Often during home visits, our volunteers discover that the family does not have furniture to sit on, a kitchen table to eat on, or beds for children to sleep in. In these cases, a voucher is provided to the family, which they can redeem for specific goods at our thrift stores.
Over 270,000 people in St. Louis received free or low-cost goods from our thrift stores in 2018.
